Ways to help your child with their worries:

  1. Ask your child about their worries. Let them talk and show them you understand how they feel.
  2. Think about what’s going on for them. Is there a big change or challenge they are up against, e.g. arguing at home, problems with friends at school, or a new sibling? Try to support them in whatever’s going on for them behind the scenes.
  3. Encourage your child to notice signs of worry and to ask for help e.g. negative thoughts, bad dreams and feeling like they want to avoid everyday activities.
