A Child Protection enquiry will start when Children’s Services are told that someone has a concern about a child’s safety or wellbeing.
The concern is called a referral.

Anyone can make a referral.
It can be a professional, someone like a teacher or nurse, who is worried about the child.

It can be a family member, a friend or a member of the public.

If a referral is made, professionals will have a strategy meeting.
