People at the Conference will decide if a Child Protection Plan is needed to help the child and family
If the Child Protection Conference decides that a plan is not needed, they might recommend a Child in Need plan instead
A Child in Need is a child who needs a little help to develop or stay healthy and well.
You do not need to take part in a Child in Need Plan. However, a Child in Need Plan may help you and your family.
If parents do not agree to a Child in Need Plan, Children’s Services might need to make a Child Protection Plan to keep the child safe.
If a Child in Need Plan is made a social worker will be allocated for the child.
The social worker will visit the child every 4 weeks. This might be at home or in school.
There will be Child in Need meetings with people who are helping with the plan.
These will be parents, family and professionals like teachers, support workers or nurses that can help.
Taking part in a Child in Need Plan can be helpful to a family.
It can stop a Child Protection Plan from happening.
