Wirral Judo Club host 15 different classes that cover all abilities from total beginners to experienced competitors. They currently have several members who are part of the England development squad. The range of classes include:

Tots: For 3 to 4 year olds, where parents are welcome to join in – lots of fun and games
Under 8s: For 5 to 7 year olds. Lots of fun working on movement and basics that will help the children as they progress to the next classes
Juniors: Working on the syllabus of techniques that will make a competent judoka
Senior and advanced junior classes: For 14 years and above. Working on the more technical and competitive elements of judo.
SEN: For 8 to 13 year olds. For those who might find it difficult to join in fully with the mainstream classes – parents are welcome to take part
Squad: For the more competitive players, by invitation only
Circuit Training: There are two groups, one for 8 to 13 year olds and one for 14+.

Wirral Judo Club was started in 2000 with just 14 beginners, one night a week on a small, temporary mat area. The club soon became popular and with the help of parents, volunteers and bags of enthusiasm from the kids it has grown to over 150 members and a permanent 18 x 7 metre mat area.
