Acorn Farm is a family-friendly attraction in Kirkby, Merseyside with lots to see and do! Whatever the weather, Acorn Farm offers a fun day out for everyone. There are a wide range of animals at the farm, many of which you can feed and stroke. Animals include sheep, cows, goats, pigs, horses and chickens, small animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs and even meerkats. Acorn Farm is a working farm, so sometimes there are baby animals including lambs, goat kids, piglets and chicks to see. During weekends and school holidays, there are small animal petting sessions and horse rides. You can even hold your child’s birthday party at Acorn Farm! Acorn Farm is a community project which began in 1985 on 4 hectares of derelict ground on an industrial estate in Kirkby, Merseyside with just 1 rabbit, 2 gerbils and 1 employee. The farm was started as a therapy project for local people with disabilities. It has since developed into an award-winning and multifaceted charity. Please note, dogs are not allowed on site, unless they are guide dogs.
