The Zine Collective is a new youth-led zine project run by Comics Youth CIC for marginalised young people, aimed at equipping them with the skills to publish their own zines.
Young people will have the opportunity to explore grassroots publication history, printing techniques and creative self-expression methods, all around other likeminded folk. It will result in them guiding the direction of a collaborative group zine, whether in workshops, or as a paid contributor, editor, or proofreader!
Sessions can be accessed either in person at the Comics Youth CIC space in Make Hamilton, Birkenhead or by joining online. The project will run in 6-month cycles, with the next cycle starting in Spring 2026.
Who is it aimed at?
Comics Youth CIC run 2 sessions a week for the Zine Collective project – one for 13-17 year olds and one for 18-25 year olds
