Koala North West is working with the Wirral Early Years Team to give extra help to young children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This support will go to some nurseries, childminders and preschools to help make sure every child feels included, happy, and able to learn.
What support will be offered?
- Key worker coaching – Helping staff with ideas, guidance and support to help children learn and grow.
- Individual child support – A team member may watch how your child plays and learns. They will share tips with staff so your child gets the help they need.
- SENCO support – The Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) will get extra help in their role so they feel confident supporting children.
- Whole setting training – All staff can take part in training to increase learning and understanding of children’s needs and manage different behaviours.
- Paperwork help – Support with SEND forms and documents.
- Working together – Working with families so home and nursery work together.
- Bespoke Support – Extra help designed for each setting’s needs.
Koala will be supporting early years settings across Wirral to make sure every child gets the best start in life.
