Ethnic minorities do not take more drugs than other people – in many instances, they take fewer drugs. However, several factors, including trauma, mental health concerns, isolation, cultural norms, discrimination and poor knowledge about local services, are barriers to help and advice.
Asylum seekers and migrants on the Wirral are especially vulnerable to drug-related harm.
