Home Fire Safety Check
Home Fire Safety Checks are targeted towards individuals who may be more vulnerable to the effects of fire or who face additional risks within the home. This may include older adults, people with mobility difficulties, sensory impairments, long-term health conditions, or other circumstances that could affect their ability to prevent, detect, or escape from a fire.
During a visit, you will be provided with personalised guidance to help reduce the risk of fire, including advice on the importance of working smoke alarms, fire prevention measures, and ensuring everyone in the household knows how to escape safely in an emergency.
You can request a Home Fire Safety Check for yourself, and referrals can also be made on behalf of a family member, friend, neighbour, or someone you support.
Free Smoke Alarms
Many residents may be eligible for the installation of free smoke alarms, particularly older adults and people who are considered to be at increased risk from fire.
