Metro Mayor's Youth Impact

Are you a young person or do you work with young people aged 13 plus?  If so, we’d love you to join Youth Impact, a network established by the Mayor to enable young people’s voices to be heard as part of the decision-making process. By being a member, you not only get the chance to influence the big decisions that affect us all but you’ll also gain access to a host of development opportunities and widen your social circle.  So what are you waiting for?

The Mayor’s Youth Impact is a group of individual young people and youth organisations offed a platform to have their say on vital areas such as transport, economic development, housing, job and skill development, the environment, digital connectivity, and culture.

What’s more, Youth Impact is part of Be More, the city region’s new all-in-one training and careers portal, so you’ll have access to all the latest skills and career development opportunities.

Why should I get involved?
  • You get to have a say in major decisions that will shape your community’s future
  • Our group is led by young people, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to shape how the group works and the issues it focuses on. If you’re part of a youth group or association already, it provides a platform to highlight some of the work you’ve been doing to a bigger audience.
  • It gives you lots of opportunities to develop and enhance key life and job skills like communication, understanding people, problem solving, to name but a few
  • Make friends and meet those with similar interests to you.
  • Enhance your CV.
