Early Intervention Programme - Stick 'n' Step

Stick ‘n’ Step is a charity that enables, inspires and supports children with cerebral palsy and their families.

Our sessions are delivered by highly skilled professionals from our specialist centres in Wallasey and Runcorn. They are designed to help each child reach their potential regarding mobility, confidence, and independence.

Early Intervention Programme

Early intervention is critical for children with neurological conditions. We encourage you to get in touch with us as soon as your child receives a specific diagnosis OR when you become concerned about their physical development, e.g. not reaching expected milestones. The conditions we work with are caused by brain damage or maldevelopment occurring before, around or soon after a baby’s birth. The first few months and years of a child’s life is therefore the most sensitive time where the most progress can be achieved. This is not to say that children can’t learn new skills and achieve important milestones later in life, but the sooner we can start working with them the better.

Please note that we only accept new applications for children up to the age of 11 years. If you are offered a place it may be at either of our centres. We will always try to accommodate your choice of centre wherever we can, but this is not always possible.

Who is this aimed at?

This service is aimed at children with cerebral palsy or other motor disorders, children from 0 to 11 years old. Families can self-refer via the Stick ‘n’ Step website.
