The social worker will talk to parents and other family members if appropriate.

The social worker will need to see the family home.

The social worker will talk to the children on their own and privately, if they are old enough to understand.
The enquiry will look at what the child needs to make things better for them.

The enquiry will look at what is working well in the family and what they need help with.

If there are no concerns the social worker will close the case.

If there are still some concerns for the child, the social worker might arrange a Child in Need meeting to help the family make things better.

If there are more serious concerns the social worker will arrange a Child Protection Conference.
