Savera UK is one of the leading charities working to end ‘honour’-based abuse (HBA) and other culturally-specific abuse in the UK, including forced marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM). It campaigns to eliminate HBA and harmful practices and provides life-saving services including safeguarding and advocacy for those at risk, regardless of age, culture, sexuality or gender. ‘Savera’ means ‘new beginning’ in Hindi, a theme that is symbolic of the support the charity provides to those who are at risk of harmful practices.
If you, or someone you know, are experiencing any of the above and need to talk to seek support, you can contact us for confidential, practical, culturally sensitive advice, support or just someone to talk to. Whatever your worry or concerns, do not be afraid to contact us, we are here to help.
