It Takes a Village is a Wirral-based baby bank supporting families with babies and young children from pregnancy through the early years. They provide essential baby items, including baby clothing, toiletries, nappies, safe-sleep essentials, Moses basket bundles, and additional items based on individual family needs and availability.
Support is accessed through referrals from trusted professionals and partner organisations such as midwives, health visitors, social care, and community organisations. It Takes a Village ensure families receive timely, practical support in a dignified and compassionate way, particularly during periods of financial hardship, transition, or vulnerability.
The service supports parents, carers, babies, and young children by helping meet basic needs, promoting safe sleeping practices, and reducing financial pressure during pregnancy and the early years. They work closely with local services and the community to ensure families feel supported, valued, and not alone.
Support is intended for parents and carers who may benefit from additional help accessing essential baby items. Referrals are accepted from trusted professionals and partner organisations, including midwives, health visitors, social care, and community organisations.
There are no restrictive eligibility criteria based on background or circumstance. Support is provided based on need, availability of items, and referral information, to offer timely, practical assistance to families across Wirral.
Contactable 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year and aim to respond to enquiries within 48 hours
The baby bank is open for arranged collections and appointments on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (except the first Friday of each month), between 10:30am and 4:30pm. Wednesdays between 2pm and 4.30pm
