Centrepoint

We’re Centrepoint, and we’re committed to ending youth homelessness. Our mission: Let’s change the story. No young person’s life should be defined by homelessness. Regardless of the cause or how complex the issues, we’ll work through it together.

Centrepoint is the UK's leading youth homelessness charity. Over the years we have grown, offering services around the country and developing truly innovative approaches to help young people. We work in partnership with other charities all over the UK, we learn from each other and we join forces to call for change. We know we can’t end youth homelessness alone – it will take collaboration and systemic change but we believe we can do it and are committed to ending youth homelessness.

  • Pre-16 Prevention - we are working with partners in schools to identify 11-16 year olds who are at hidden risk of homelessness.
  • Supported Housing - we run over 60 accommodation services. We work in 15 boroughs in London, Sunderland, Manchester, Bradford and Barnsley. Our services aim to provide security to young people and inform on the causes of homelessness.
  • Education, Training and Employment - we help put young people on the path to lasting employment through employability programmes, functional skills training and other learning initiatives.
  • Support and Advice - We provide a dedicated helpline, and financial and legal advice for young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Our Partnering Membership scheme pulls together a national network organisations supporting homeless young people.
  • Independent Living programme - provides young people with a home to call their own. It is our solution to breaking the cycle of young homelessness for good.
  • Moving on - we prepare young people for moving on while they’re with us, and we continue to support them for six months after they've left.
  • Policy and Research - Centrepoint campaigns to influence national and local government policy that affects homeless young people. We focus on areas of policy including housing, family and health.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships - We collaborate with third-sector and local authority partners to help prevent homelessness nationwide
  • Information Hub - Talk to someone at Centrepoint to get advice on your housing situation and rights. Find out about training and employment opportunities, about claiming benefits and about our Independent Living Programme.
