Caritas provides services to children, families and vulnerable adults of all faiths and none. We work across all sections of the community and cultural backgrounds. Caritas Wirral family Support Services has a dedicated team of experienced staff and volunteers, with excellent knowledge of local services and support networks. They work together in partnership with other charities, the voluntary sector and local authorities to provide a multi-agency approach.
Caritas aims to;
- Build self-esteem and confidence
- Prevent isolation for those who are either alone or new to the area
- Nurture the emotional development of children and young people within the home and community
- Address critical personal and social issues
- Develop new skills, knowledge, attitudes and values that will assist people in reaching their full potential
The services and partnerships on the Wirral include:
- Family Support – Caritas Wirral family Support Services has a dedicated team of experienced staff and volunteers, with excellent knowledge of local services and support networks. We work together in partnership with other charities, the voluntary sector and local authorities to provide a multi-agency approach
- Parenting Support – We provide drop-ins and workshops for parents, carers, guardians and grandparents and those who need support with children aged 0-19 years and SEND. This creates opportunities to learn new skills and share concerns and strategies in a safe non-judgemental environment
- Counselling for Young People and Adults -Counselling services for clients give essential mental health support through cognitive behaviour therapy, person centred and other therapies in a relaxed and welcoming environment. We offer various support including support for Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, relationships, self-esteem interventions and confidence building
- Listening Support – Listening ear support involves the provision of a safe space for the children, adults and families we support to talk openly and confidentially about any difficulties they may be experiencing from but not limited to domestic violence/abuse, homelessness, family relationships, parenting advice, LGBTQIA+, community support and racism
- Bereavement and Loss Support – We offer bereavement support in an environment where children, adults and families we support can feel comfortable and can speak openly about their loss
- Support, Advice and Information – A wide range of support, advice and information around benefits, domestic violence and parental mental health
- Advocacy – We aim to improve confidence and empower the people we work with by supporting them to express their concerns, views and wishes, ensuring they receive the appropriate support during meetings and appointments, and encouraging positive outcomes for the family as a whole
