Adoption Matters is a children’s charity and one of the largest Voluntary Adoption Agencies (VAAs) in the UK. We recruit, train and support individuals and families as adopters and offer them ongoing support and training for as long as they need it.
We are an independent organisation and our priority is to find stable, loving homes for children through adoption and Early Permanence.
We work in partnership with Local Authorities and Regional Adoption Agencies across the whole of the UK to find families for children in care whose plan is adoption. For you, this means a wider pool of children to consider, not just your local area.
We promote therapeutic parenting techniques that support children to begin to recover from their previous trauma, manage their anxiety and achieve their potential in life.
Adoption Matters is aimed at people looking to start or grow their families.
Monday to Friday – 9am to 5pm
The whole of the North of England, Stoke, Staffordshire and Shropshire.
The Process
The adoption process starts with your first email or call to us, right through to a child’s first years with you and beyond. Below is an overview of the stages of the adoption process to give you an idea of what to expect.
