How to support a young carer

  1. Give them time for themselves. Try to make sure that they have time each week spending time with their friends where they can relax and let off steam.
  2. Encourage them to do something they enjoy. This can be something that they do in the home or outside the home.
  3. Give them a physical space in the house that can be their ‘happy place’, where they can escape to when they need to.
