Mersey Tunnel Tours

The Mersey Tunnel Tour takes you on a unique behind the scenes look at the famous Queensway Mersey Tunnel, which opened in 1934. Grab your hard hat and join this fascinating behind-the-scenes journey beneath the city streets.

You’ll explore:

• The original Georges Dock Building
• Giant ventilation fans
• The historic Control Room
• And YES – stand beside live traffic inside the tunnel!

Not suitable for those with mobility, breathing or sight difficulties.

Who is this aimed at?

Open to all. Only children over 10 years of age are allowed on the tour

When

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays – 5pm

Saturdays – 10am

The tour will take approx two hours

Tours start at George’s Dock Building, George’s Dock Gates, Liverpool L3 1DD
