Sunday Groups for children and young people run alongside the 10:30am service at St Mary’s Parish Church (except for the first Sunday of the month, which is an All Age Service and Sensory Sunday). Each group helps children to explore the Bible in a way that is suitable for their age in an engaging and relevant way to enable them to develop and own faith of their own.
Our Sunday Groups run for the following age groups:
Seed and Grow: Pre-school, aged 0 to 4 years
Jesus and Me: Reception to School Year 2
Explorers: School Years 3 to 5
Pathfinders: School Years 6 to 8
CYFA: School Years 9 to 13, meets on Sunday evenings
Seed and Grow
In Seed and Grow our children from 0 to 4 years old have loads of fun learning from the Bible through play. Sessions include a Bible story, music, a craft and familiar songs. It is a requirement to have a grown-up with you for these sessions.
Our Preschool children have loads of fun learning from the Bible through play. These sessions include a Bible story, music and craft each week. The session will take place in the West Room and will be approximately 45 minutes long.
JAM- Jesus and Me
JAM is the place for those in reception to year 2; it is a nurturing environment to introduce children to faith. We do this through games, crafts, Bible stories and prayer.
JAM will take place in the Garden Room and will be approx 45 minutes long.
Explorers
Explorers is for children year 3 to year 5. Together we look at faith and the Bible, and the children are given lots of opportunities to ask questions whilst they explore faith in a fun way with friends and supportive leaders.
Explorers will take place in the Church Hall and will be approx 45mins long.
Pathfinders
Our Pathfinders group is for young people from year 6 to year 8. We look at faith and the Bible. It is a chance to ask those important questions whilst exploring faith in a fun way with friends and supportive leaders.
Pathfinders takes place in The Bank on Sunday mornings
CYFA - Sunday evenings
CYFA is for young people in year 9 through to Sixth Form. We look at faith, and the Bible and focus on issues important to our teenagers. It is a great chance to meet friends, ask questions and explore the Christian faith. We meet in the Bank on Sunday evenings. We also have a midweek Zoom Bible Study where we think more deeply about what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
