A Child in Need Plan is a plan that looks at what support a child and family might need.
The plan says what support will be in place to help a child and family.
A social worker will complete a draft plan. A draft plan means the plan is not finished yet.
People can read the plan and share their views before it becomes a final plan.
The social worker will bring the draft plan to the first meeting.
The first meeting is called a Child in Need Planning Meeting.
At the meeting the social worker will ask the parents what they think.
The social worker will ask the child what they think if it is appropriate to do this.
The social worker will ask professionals what they think.
The final Child in Need Plan will be adjusted to take into account what everyone has said and agreed.
The plan will say what is working well for the child and family.

What professionals will be involved to give support.
What the child and family agree to do.
A Child in Need meeting about the plan takes place usually every 6 weeks.
