Wirral Watersports Centre

Wirral Watersports Centre is based at West Kirby Marine Lake, offering a full range of water sport activities, delivering fun and adventure on and off the water

Ideally placed on the northwest corner of Wirral, the lake enjoys uninterrupted winds from across the Dee Estuary and beyond. Considered the regions premier location for Wing Foiling, Windsurfing, Dinghy Sailing, and, on calmer days, the lake is perfect for paddleboarding and canoeing. To access the lake with your own craft you can purchase a pass on a day or monthly basis to suit your needs.

West Kirby Marine Lake is for the exclusive use of Wirral Watersports Centre Customers and Members only.

You can get on the water in several ways including:

• RYA Training – Sailing/Windsurfing/Powerboating
• Paddle UK – Kayak, FSRT, Paddleboarding

Benefits of a Watersports Membership

• Access to the lake with a personal unpowered craft from the car park at the North West end
• Free parking at the lake side for all Watersports Members and day pass holders (when available)

• Watersports Membership durations to suit your use

When

Wirral Watersports Centre is open 7 days a week, with seasonal opening times:

Summer: April to September (inclusive) – 9am to 8pm

Winter: October to March (inclusive) – 10am to 4pm

Please note: Classes and Activities run throughout Spring, Summer and Autumn

How to get involved

• Lake access, sessions and classes must be pre-booked and prepaid before attending any activity.
• Advanced classes and boat hire is only available to customers who have obtained prior qualifications (please check prerequisites before booking)
• All classes are subject to weather conditions and instructor availability.

All customer registration, purchase of memberships and class bookings can be made online or by telephone. If you have registered your details with Active Wirral Leisure Centres and have an existing Customer ID number, please try to have it available when you call.  Please do not leave an answerphone message to book a class.
