At Merseyside Society for Deaf People, our mission is to promote equality and improve the lives of d/Deaf, Deafblind, and hard of hearing individuals throughout the region. We offer a wide range of specialist services using various communication methods to meet diverse needs.
As a leading advocate for change, the organisation works to ensure that Deaf, Deafblind, and Hard of Hearing individuals can access the services they need—free from barriers that limit their growth or participation in society
The services provided include:
Children and family services – Support and advice
Support Work – Home visits and duty sessions
Equipment – Assessments and repairs
Interpreter Service – Booking and registrations
Deaf Community and Social Activities – MSDP run a variety of community groups for Deaf, Deaf Blind and Hard of Hearing people
Training – The Charity also provides specialist training in Deaf Awareness and British Sign Language from beginner up to Interpreter level

Duty Sessions
Our Team provides support to Deaf, Deaf-Blind and Hard of Hearing People aged 18 years and over. We provide support for three Local Authorities – Liverpool, Wirral and Sefton.
All our staff have an in-depth knowledge of issues surrounding Deafness and Deaf Blind, and members of the team are able to communicate using the following methods:
Duty Officers hold drop-in sessions to help with housing, health services, finances, DWP benefits, and referrals. We empower clients by providing advice and guidance to support informed decision-making.

Wirral Deaf Community
