The Early Help Advisor team comprises of skilled staff from within the Local Authority Family Matters team who have worked in Wirral for many years with a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience of working directly with families.

Each Wirral primary school has an Early Help Advisor who will be their single point of contact for Early Help.

Early Help Advisors are embedded into primary schools to offer support, guidance and signposting at the earliest opportunity to ensure children, young people, and families have access to the most appropriate support.

Early Help Advisors can:

  • offer consultations to primary school staff face to face or via telephone appointments.
  • Meet with families/carers in a child’s school to provide signposting on appropriate services that can be accessed across Wirral
  • to provide signposting and guidance to schools on appropriate services that their families/carers can access
  • work with schools to avoid delay’s in children and families accessing services to prevent issues not being addressed and worsening
  • arrange meetings with school and parents/carers
  • arrange for parents/carers to join parenting programmes either at school or in local community group

If you feel that an Early Help Advisor would be able to support your family alongside primary school, please discuss this with your child’s school.
