Bullying

Bullying is when someone is picked on by a person or a group. It can happen anywhere and be about anything. Some signs of bullying are easy to spot, others can be more subtle.

Types of bullying include:

  • Physical – hitting, kicking, tripping, pinching, pushing or damaging property
  • Verbal – name calling, insults, teasing, intimidation, homophobic or racist remarks, or verbal abuse
  • Social – can be harder to recognise and carried out behind the person’s back. It can harm someone’s social reputation and / or cause humiliation
  • Cyber bullying – harm inflicted through the use of computers, phones, and other electronic devices.
