Koala North West exists to provide children and their families with tailored practical and emotional support that improves wellbeing, reduces isolation and supports both children and care-givers to thrive.
Koala Sleep Service
The ‘Koala North West Sleep Service’ is aimed at supporting parents of a child between 2 and 11 years, where the child has difficulty settling at night, frequently wakes throughout the night or wakes early to start the day.
What do the experts say?
Lack of sleep can cause a number of issues including poor behaviour, lack of concentration, and affect social, emotional and physical development.
What's it about?
- You are the expert on your child, so the ‘Koala North West Sleep Service’ is all about our Sleep Practitioner working alongside you in promoting positive sleep outcomes.
- Our behavioural approach to sleep is flexible and designed to meet individual family’s needs. Support can be accessed by having 1-1 individual support over the phone or a 6-week course where there is the opportunity to meet other parents dealing with similar issues.
- We understand how difficult life can be when your child has a problem sleeping, so our Sleep Practitioner visiting you to discuss your needs and what we can offer, could be a first positive step.
Sleep Better Course for Parents
A 6 week course for parents who are finding bedtime and sleep a problem for their child and their family.
Who is it for?
- The Sleep Better course is offered by ‘Koala North West’ to parents or carers of a child between the ages of 2 and 11 years old, including those with complex needs, ASD or ADHD.
What's it about?
- Here at ‘Koala North West’ we believe that working in partnership with parents and carers, is the best way to make positive and lasting changes to a child’s sleep pattern.
- If bedtime and sleep are a problem for you and your family, our 6 week course could be something you could benefit from.
- Each session will last for approximately 2 hours and is facilitated by one of our trained and accredited sleep practitioners, who will offer support and guidance over the duration of the course.
- Groups will be limited to ten people, where you will learn about sleep cycles, causes of sleep issues, sleep diaries and sleep foods, gain experience in establishing good bedtime routines, recognise and manage sleep problems, and deal with night waking. You will get to meet parents and carers with similar concerns, sharing and benefiting from each other’s experiences.
