Tommy's are dedicated to finding causes and treatments to save babies’ lives, as well as providing trusted pregnancy and baby loss information and support.
We work across the whole pregnancy journey, turning our research breakthroughs into new tests and treatments, campaigning for changes to national maternity care and providing expert information and support for everyone.
- We fund ground-breaking research to identify why pregnancy goes wrong, which helps us to understand how we can prevent complications and loss, as well as enabling specialist care for people at our clinics, research centres and across the NHS.
- We provide expert, midwife-led advice for parents before, during and after pregnancy, working together towards safer, healthier pregnancies.
- We foster a connected, caring community, united in our goal to make pregnancy safer for all and advocating for and supporting those who have lost babies.
Through this work, and with the help of our amazing supporters and partners, we’re driving change at every level and finding ways to stop miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth.
Tommy's Midwives' Helpline for Black and Black Mixed-Heritage Women
This specialist helpline supports Black and Black Mixed-Heritage women and birthing people in the UK with any aspect of your pregnancy journey.
Black women may experience racism during their healthcare and are underserved when it comes to support, which is why we are offering this specialised service.
The helpline offers a safe space where you can be listened to and supported through any issue related to pregnancy, including pregnancy loss and pre-conception.
Who is this aimed at?
Black and Black Mixed-Heritage women and birthing people in the UK
We have a special helpline reserved for Black and Mixed Black women and birthing people. This is because this group has a higher risk of having pregnancy problems than other ethnicities.
