Secondary schools information & open events

ARTICLE See also:

If your child is in school years 4, 5 or 6 you may be thinking about high school choices.

Secondary schools will be inviting young people and their parents or carers in to have a look around and get a feel for their school. Try to visit at least 2 or 3 to be able to compare and contrast.

Tips to look out for when visiting prospective schools

  1. First impressions count.  Does it feel welcoming and like a secure and happy place?
  2. Chat with the students that are helping out; find out their thoughts and feelings about school
  3. Do the teachers chat and interact well with your child?
  4. Look at how the school will cater for your child’s needs.
