Supporting The Emotional Wellbeing Of Children & Young People.
The Blinks is a series of story books for children and young people created by Andrea Chatten, a highly experienced Practitioner and Expert in the Psychology of Children’s Social, Emotional & Behavioural issues. She is also the go-to Psychologist to the BBC on such issues. Over the years she has developed lots of psychological practices to improve children's emotional well-being for happier lives.
Each story tackles a different emotion - worry, anger, self-esteem, sadness, shyness and love - and has an accompanying reference manual for parents, carers and teachers so they can be one step ahead in nudging well-being in the right direction. The books also tackle other social issues including bullying, bereavement, school phobia, separation and divorce, elected mutism and loneliness.
Although the books are written to help all children to name and claim feelings, they have been particularly embraced by SEN children and those with ASD as they make abstract emotions much clearer to understand and act on.
