The Pilgrim Street Arts Centre serves as a vibrant hub for creative expression and community engagement. It houses The Drop In, Creative Youth Development (CYD), KIDSTIME and offers singing and vocal development and art groups.
The Drop-In
The Drop-In is committed to providing essential assistance for children and young people aged 11 to 19, with an extended reach up to 25 for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The well-being of young individuals is paramount. The team of youth workers and counsellors at The Drop-In understand that life can sometimes present tough challenges, from dealing with grief and mental health issues to family problems and bullying. Support services include:
- Brief intervention support from experienced youth workers.
- Well-being activities every evening.
- Single-session counselling for young people aged 13 to 19.
- Partnerships with organizations to provide individual packages of care.
- Assistance in the delivery of training.
- Safeguarding young people and supporting risk management processes.
- Introduction to alternate services.
Creative Youth Development (CYD)
CYD provides a range of in-house activities based at Pilgrim Street Arts Centre, including dance, drama, technical theatre, music, and visual arts. These activities enable young people to improve their physical and emotional well-being.
