A new, free counselling service has been launched in Wirral for trans, non-binary and intersex residents. This is a vital service and can be accessed by a self-referral. The service is delivered by Cheshire and Merseyside Adult Gender Identity Collaborative (CMAGIC) with the support of LCR Pride Foundation and funded by NHS Wirral Clinical Commissioning Group.

Cheshire & Mersey Adult Gender Identity Collaborative – or CMAGIC – is a new charity championing a holistic approach to gender services and support across the region. Our charity is changing the way Trans and Non-Binary people access gender services in Cheshire & Merseyside.

We believe that a new approach is needed that considers all aspects of a person’s journey, providing holistic and bespoke care at every stage.

Our Service

NHS Gender Incongruence Pilot

One of three clinical care pathway pilots in England, delivered in partnership with Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. This pilot is simplifying the process of accessing medical care and diagnosis for those following a clinical gender pathway.

Cheshire Trans Counselling Support Services

Counselling support service pilot delivered for residents of Cheshire. Funded by Cheshire NHS Clinical Commissioning Group this service provides 1-2-1 support to Trans and Non-Binary people in the region over several sessions.

The service provides access to experienced Gender Incongruence counsellors, accessed for one-hour appointments, conducted online.

About Your Sessions

The service provides up to four one hour appointments with our specialist counsellors.

How to access the Service

The service is by self-referral, so you can put yourself forward for it using the form linked to this page.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the service you must be 18 years old or older and live in the areas of Cheshire or Wirral, UK.

You do not need to be registered with a GP or Gender Identity Clinic to access this service.
Depending on the demand for the service, you may need to be put on a short waiting list to make your first appointment. When you register we will usually get in touch within a week to let you know when to expect your first appointment.
