BTR Liverpool are the leading independent organisation for creating, managing and delivering headline running events across the Liverpool City Region.

We strive to inspire, motivate and encourage the local running community - from beginners taking part in the first organised event, through to experienced runners chasing a personal best. BTR events are for everyone.

Mersey Tunnel 10K

The race starts just yards from the emergency Tunnel exit road on Bevington Bush on the Liverpool side of the River Mersey and drops directly down onto the main approach road to deliver a fast descent into the Kingsway (Wallasey) Tunnel.

​The Tunnel takes runners on a journey of just over 3K before exiting on the Wirral side of the river before the course makes its way along the Dock Road and the Seacombe Ferry terminal at the halfway point.

​The second half of the race takes runners along the promenade overlooking the River Mersey showing off the impressive Liverpool skyline at its best.

​The race finishes on Ian Fraser Walk at New Brighton and some of the eagle-eyed among you will have seen Ian Fraser Walk feature on a Channel 4 promo which shows wheelchair athletes racing along with the giant Channel 4 logo.

Baggage buses transfer your belongings to the finish area once the race begins so all you have to do is get yourself to the start line. It's great opportunity to run through the Tunnel and experience a feat of modern engineering as you make your way from Liverpool to New Brighton with 1000s of other runners.

How to get involved

Online registration is essential as places are limited. To register for your event, please Visit the Run ABC Registration platform

Supporters and volunteers are welcome and cheering is encouraged.

Please note: We cannot take event entries over the phone.  You enter BTR events on the understanding that once the entry is accepted it is not possible to provide refunds, deferrals or entry transfers outside your statutory rights period.
