Leasowe Lighthouse is the oldest brick built lighthouse in the UK and the second oldest in Europe built. The lighthouse will be open to the public each 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month.
The ground floor of Leasowe Lighthouse is free to enter and is where you can buy tea, coffee, cold drinks and so on and also small gifts and information leaflets.
Please make sure that your child is at least 1.06 meters tall as smaller children are not allowed to climb the spiral stairs so unable to take the tour.
It is also not possible for children and babies to be carried up or down the stairs. Adults and children should wear flat shoes ( no stiletto heels) as the cast iron spiral staircase has steps that may cause problems for other types of shoes.
The first tour starts at around 12:15pm and the last tour leaves the ground floor at 3:15pm so please make sure you are in the building and have purchased your ticket before then.
Tours last for around 30 minutes so please consider carefully whether your children might get bored on a tour like this.
Before the tour starts you will be given a short talk by your guide about the building's health and safety procedures, please pay careful attention to this.
