River of Light – Culture Liverpool

River of Light returns!

Liverpool’s much loved light festival is back. Get ready for brand new light installations and magical moments along the iconic waterfront, all for free!

The theme of the festival this year is, ‘Together’, with all installations focusing on how light brings people closer in a joyful way.

There are 13 light installations in total to enjoy, including:

  • The Anooki – The Anooki will be playing hide-and-seek with the public from behind the grand columns of Liverpool Town Hall
  • Colour Rush – A bold and vibrant light beacon in the Royal Albert Dock that showcases intricate colour relationships, juxtapositions, and patterns
  • Dream Herd – A playful and interactive installation, offering a tongue-in-cheek interpretation of counting sheep that can be found in Derby Square
  • Loop – An interactive installation at St Paul’s Square, composed of six giant zoetropes that bring short flipbook-style films to life through movement, light and sound
  • And many more – you can use the map below to identify the location of all the different installations
