Dyslexia Webinar – Witherslack Group

Different Ways of Thinking: Dyslexia Explained

This online webinar hosted by Amanda Hornby a Specialist Dyslexia Trainer with the British Dyslexia Association, will explore dyslexia, its impact on learning and confidence, and practical strategies to support children at home and how to work positively with your child’s school.

The session will share:

  • An introduction to dyslexia, including how it can affect learning, confidence and everyday life, and why support works best when it is tailored to the individual
  • A brief look at how frustration, avoidance, tiredness or emotional responses at home may be connected to the effort dyslexic learners are using throughout the school day
  • Practical, easy-to-use ideas families can try at home to reduce pressure, support organisation and build confidence
  • Suggestions for positive conversations with school, helping families share concerns, recognise strengths and agree helpful adjustments clearly
