Wirral Ways

Wirral Ways is a free and confidential drug and alcohol service. Providing a non-judgemental service, with qualified, experienced staff & volunteers who offer support in health & wellbeing and substance misuse. They can talk to you in several supportive environments, all of which have a friendly atmosphere and provide you with information to help you reduce your substance misuse or become abstinent.

Wirral Ways believe in you and that you can make a positive difference in your life. They also support friends and family members affected by their loved one’s drug or alcohol use. There are teams specialising in criminal justice, families, opiates and non-opiates, drugs, alcohol, and housing, as well as an in-house medical team of specialist doctors, nurses, and GPs. The outreach and engagement team also work with the community, organisations, charities, hostels, local GP surgeries and pharmacies, Wirral Council and Merseyside Police. 

Wirral Ways also offer and free and confidential Needle Exchange at their Birkenhead and Wallasey Hubs. Naloxone is also available for free from any Wirral Ways Hub, as well as a brief training on how to administer Naloxone in an emergency to save a life.

How to get involved

Referrals do not need to be made by a GP or medical professional. Self-referrals can be made through the referral form on our website, over the phone, by email or in person at any of the hubs.
