Open Doors Mysa service is a non-clinical support service for anybody aged 18+ experiencing disordered eating of any kind, with no diagnosis needed to access support. Mysa aims to empower members through knowledge, understanding and empathy and has been created to help people manage their wellbeing, and equip them with the tools and techniques to understand the causes of their disordered eating and build helpful coping skills for the future.
Mysa currently runs in two different forms, which are an 8 week 1:1 CBT programme, or a weekly peer support group.
1:1 CBT programme:
Their 1:1 Mysa programme is an 8 week long 1:1 peer support programme for anybody aged 18+ and living with disordered eating. The programme uses methods of cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness and more.
Each week members spend an hour together for a 1:1 session with their peer mentor, covering new content, skills and tools for managing their mental health with disordered eating on our digitised CBT programme.
Weekly support groups:
A weekly support group runs every Monday from 5-6pm, which serves as a safe space to meet peers with shared lived experience and support one another through a mix of creative and therapeutic activities each week.
The support group is a brilliant way for members to uplift one another whilst working through evidence-based activities to promote wellbeing.
