Birkenhead is the home of one of the most exciting new music venues in the UK, a building that re-imagines the role of a live music venue, providing live industry training and a regional hub for artist development.
Future Yard is a 350-capacity space, at 75 Argyle Street. Our community venue brings you some of today’s most exciting new national and international artists to the Wirral, while at the same time providing key early performance opportunities for emerging local musicians. Birkenhead – and Wirral – is a place with music in it's DNA, but it has been too long since we have had a dedicated live music venue in our town. We believe that music venues are the maternity wards of creative culture. They are always the trailblazers, the first cultural flagpole when it comes to thinking about a place differently.
Our Environmental Pledge - Our venue is run by Future Yard CIC – a non-profit focused on delivering Future Yard’s positive social and environmental impact, alongside realising our creative vision. As an organisation, we have committed to a long-term goal of becoming the UK’s first carbon-neutral grassroots music venue.
Bar, Coffee Shop and Kitchen
Serving a full range of coffee, beers and cocktails, our indoor bar area has ample space to welcome you. We’ll have DJs setting the vibe on Friday and Saturday nights from the raised indoor booth and a great range of sustainable, plant-based food.
FY for Artists - We bring you the inside track on artist success stories through our monthly Direct Input live webinars; and we're amassing a vital bank of resources for artists who are looking to build their careers, through our annual Beacon programme. All free to access.
PROPELLER - Propeller sits at the heart of the artist empowerment revolution. Today, well-connected independent artists who understand the modern music industry are flourishing and building successful careers. Don’t wait. Take control and make the new music industry work for you. Future Yard provide rehearsal studio space, professional mentor support, a rolling programme of workshops and masterclasses and all this is based within a vibrant artist community, Future Yard, one of the UK’s most exciting new music venues.
Future Yard Training - Sound Check is a training programme from Future Yard in partnership with The Learning Foundry. The exciting course designed to introduce young people to the skills they need to pursue careers in the live music industry. It is open to young people aged 16+ from the local area who have a passion for live music, and takes place within our dynamic music venue in Birkenhead.
Mosh Tots - The hippest, hottest party in town! Sunday mornings down on Argyle Street are the place to be.
Our Gigs for Kids aimed at children aged 1 to 8 years old (and well-behaved parents) series is here to introduce young people to the rockin’ world of live music in a safe and fun environment. We believe that live music should be for everyone, no matter your age, Mosh Tots is an opportunity to share the joy of live music together as a family.
