BTR Liverpool are the leading independent organisation for creating, managing and delivering headline running events across the Liverpool City Region.

We strive to inspire, motivate and encourage the local running community - from beginners taking part in the first organised event, through to experienced runners chasing a personal best. BTR events are for everyone.

Liverpool Santa Dash

The Liverpool Santa Dash is the biggest and longest established Santa Run in the UK.  The event is enjoyed by runners of all abilities as they take part in a day of enjoyment and atmosphere right in the heart of Liverpool.

The 5K fun run starts at the magnificent Pier Head in front of the famous Liver Building and by 9.30am the whole of the public space is completely full of Santas, in both red and blue suits. The route flows through the city centre passing through the Royal Albert Dock and back along the main waterfront roads before turning into the tightly packed streets to finish in front of the Town Hall.

Everyone who takes part in the Santa Dash will receive a Santa suit.

Who is this aimed at?

The Santa Dash is a 5K fun run and classified as such. It is open to everyone and children under the age of 12 can take part in the 5K, but they will need to pay the full entry fee.

The Mini Dash is specifically for children up to the age of 12 and there is a reduced entry fee for the 1K.

The Santa Dash takes place each year on the first Sunday in December

Time

9:30am Start

There isn't a time limit to complete the 5K distance - the theme of the day is about participation and enjoyment. Competitive running is discouraged.

Please note:

• The adult Santa suit is one size fits all. For younger entrants there are two sizes available age 5 - 8 years and 9 -14 years. Santa suits are not provided for under 5 years of age.
• You need to hand in your wristband at the finish line to indicate that you are a legitimate entrant in the race. The Cadets who distribute the medals at the finish are instructed to hand out medals only to official entrants.
• We cannot take event entries over the phone. You enter BTR events on the understanding that once the entry is accepted it is not possible to provide refunds, deferrals or entry transfers outside your statutory rights period.
