AAFDA has over a decade of experience advocating for families after the homicide, suicide or unexplained death of their family member or friend, following domestic abuse. AAFDA was established in 2008 by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will, whose murders in 2003 resulted in the pilot Domestic Homicide Review being conducted.
We draw on our personal and professional experience of major criminal justice processes like Domestic Homicide Reviews, and other related inquiries and provide emotional, practical and specialist peer support to those left behind after fatal domestic homicide.
Our priority is to support families and friends who have lost a loved one through fatal domestic abuse.
